Located in ‘golf valley’ in Nueva Andalucia, Los Naranjos is one of the oldest golf courses in the region. Designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Sr, the course comprises 70 hectares of golfing terrain, a river and an orange grove- which gives the club its name. The course has been ranked in the top 20 courses in southern Spain, and has hosted numerous golf championships since it was founded over 50 years ago.

Facilities include a famous restaurant, hair salon and physiotherapist. Fees currently  range from 83 euros in low season to 115 euros in high season, for 18 holes.

ALOHA GOLF CLUB

Also located in golf valley, Aloha comprises 18 holes of stunning green space, reminiscent of the English countryside. In fact, it was designed just so by celebrated course designer Javiar Arana. Aloha has a cosmopolitan membership, and describes itself as a friendly second home to its members. It has hosted the PGA European Tour on several occasions and the Spanish Ladies Open, which was won by a local.

The facilities include a large outdoor pool, gym and a prestigious restaurant. Summer fees are 235 euros, which does not include the buggy.

MARBELLA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Marbella Golf & Country Club

Five minutes from Marbella city centre, this is one of the most challenging courses on the Costa del Sol, with a difficult terrain and unique combination of obstacles and bunkers. However, the trade-off for the difficulty is the spectacular views of Marbella’s landscape, the Mediterranean sea and olive groves.

The Clubhouse includes a clothing boutique and tennis courts. In high season, fees reach 110 euros, inclusive of golf buggy.

REAL CLUB DE LAS BRISAS

Another brainchild of Robert Trent Jones Senior, Las Brisas is one of the most exclusive clubs in the region, and has undergone significant renovations and remodeling over the years. The landscape is designed as something of a tropical botanical garden, with flora and fauna from around the world.

The real gem is often considered to be the restaurant which is open to the public and offers breathtaking views, live music and Sunday roasts.

LA QUINTA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Catering to all levels of expertise, this is one of the most popular courses in the region. It was designed by Ryder Cup champion and thrice world champion, Manuel Pinero and comprises 27 holes split into three 9 hole courses.
